PRIDE OF POLY MARCHING BAND and MARIACHI LOS PERICOS

As former Poly graduates, each of us is in an extraordinary position to reach out
and "TOUCH THE LIVES of POLY STUDENTS"..... a genuine opportunity to
help these kids see their potential, learn to be part of a team, experience the
thrill of being a winner, and to take pride in their accomplishments...but most
importantly to understand how Poly will enrich and shape their future lives.

Due to the band room being soaked in 2" of rainwater over a weekend several
months ago, many of the school-owned instruments were corroded, due to
exposure to water and humidity, to the extent that some require major
renovation and others are becoming totally unusable.  Marta O'Campo, band
director of The Pride of Poly Marching Band and Mariachi Los Pericos, has
requested donations of any and all musical instruments.  It is time to look
through closets and attics to see what musical treasures may be lying
silent.....your donation will provide "A GIFT OF MUSIC".

Contact class of '59 graduate,Judy Simpson at
judooles59@gmail.com to
arrange for instrument pickup or mailing instructions. According to protocol, UIL
(University Interscholastic League) rules, all donations must pass through the
principal's office and never donated directly to a teacher or staff member....if not
followed properly, UIL could and would disqualify that particular department
from competition for that school year.

You can also help the Marching Band and Mariachi Band Boosters by
purchasing one or both of the booster signs below for $5 each.  The signs can
be purchased by visiting Poly Music Dept, which is located next to teachers
parking lot that  faces Rosedale St.  Please email the Band Director, Marta
O'Campo, at Marta.ocampo@fwisd.org for an appointment time that is
convenient for her.

The booster signs were designed by the Class of '59 (special thanks to Pruitt
Benson for the Mariachi art) and printed by Don Boren, a Poly alumni and owner
of Kwik Kopy on Handley Drive in Fort Worth.
